biography

I am a dance educator, artist, and scholar. Long before I understood where the path would lead, I chose dance, and in many ways, dance chose me. That calling has shaped more than 15 years of teaching, creating, and performing, and along the way, leading me to earn a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance.
For more than a decade, I have served as a full-time dance educator in higher education while also teaching guest master classes and workshops throughout the Southeast for dancers of all ages. My teaching is focused in contemporary modern dance, jazz, improvisation, somatics, and conditioning. Across every setting, I seek to create learning environments that challenge students artistically while supporting them as whole people.
My commitment to dance education is rooted in a simple conviction: I want to provide my students with the resources, mentorship, and encouragement that I wished I had as a young adult dancer. I believe technical excellence flourishes within a healthy, supportive, and body-positive learning culture where students are empowered to take risks, ask questions, and develop sustainable relationships with their bodies and their art.
As both an educator and an artist, I remain committed to continual growth. I regularly pursue advanced training, certifications, and professional development in dance pedagogy, dancer health, and movement methodologies while expanding my creative practice through interdisciplinary collaborations. Most recently, my work has explored screendance as a way of extending choreography beyond the stage and into new artistic spaces. By remaining actively engaged in the evolving field of dance, I continue to bring fresh perspectives, current practices, and meaningful creative experiences to my students, collaborators, and the broader dance community.
